Michelle Van Allen has been teaching in the Flathead Valley since 1986. Her music school, Van Allen Studios, hosts classes as well as private students. Weekly lessons are video recorded and accessed through her private library. Students can also choose to learn remotely, through class and individual video sessions.
Michelle had the pleasure of studying under many diverse and wonderfully skilled teachers, while receiving multiple certifications through the Yamaha Education system. This culminated in Michelle becoming a regional trainer and collaborating on curriculum with Yamaha. Her passion to play led her to develop her own course of study, helping students develop the ability to play by ear. Her involvement in the community has included teaching music & choir at a local private school, directing a 90-voice children’s choir and leading in music ministry. Countless students she has mentored have gone on to study music in college, have chosen music professions, while others have used their music skills to enrich their own lives and their communities through church playing and in local bands.
An active member of the local Kalispell Area Music Teachers Association, Michelle enjoys the comradery and education that this organization brings to its members.
Michelle’s other life interests include her love and dedication to her family, volunteering as a chaplain for Braveheart Ministries, exploring the outdoors, gardening and cooking.
